They fixed a lot of the “issues” post release, so early complaints are no longer applicable. You can no longer alter terrain height, which means every lot it just a flat piece of land, which is understandably annoying but again, the reason is it allows them to make the game higher quality in terms of graphics. The actual building is different and I know a lot of passionate builders who still prefer the sims 3. In the sims 3 I notice that most of my sims all end up looking roughly related.Īt first build and buy mode threw me for a loop because of how differently it’s set up but once you get used to it, it’s much better imo. I feel like I can make truly unique and individual looking sims. I went back to the Sims 3 and noticed that I missed the customization options the sims 4 have. The create a sim is better than ever and a large part of why I was sold on the sims 4. I run it on high graphics, with mods, and I don’t have a fancy gaming laptop, and my loading screens at most are 5-7 seconds. Most times it takes a few seconds or less to load so you barley notice it, especially once you play it for a little while. The addition of loading screens isn’t even that big of a deal. You have moods that heavily influence the way you live your sim life. You’re sims will react to situations a little more realistically than before. Also the addition of emotions makes your sims feel less robotic. But they did that because it allows them to make the graphics better for the Sims 4 (that’s how I was told it worked anyway). There isn’t as much customization when it comes to clothes and houses since they took away the ability to create your own colors and patterns for everything. My verdict is, it improved on that’s that the Sims 3 lacked, while sacrificing some of the more “freedom” that people usually talk about. It was the first and only sims game I had played at that point.
